It all starts in the village of Charleval, next door to La Roque d’Anthéron. It's an easy start as you ride by the Durance Valley. When you reach Saint-Christophe Reservoir, you leave the vegetable and fruit-growing plain for the hill, vineyard and pine forest. It gets hilly and the garrigue is bursting with the scents of Provence. Little hamlets and isolated houses pepper the route. You need to choose your path when you reach Lambesc. One is a short but steep trail. It takes you across the Côtes mountains with fabulous views of the Alpilles and Durance Valley. The other is less steep and gives you an extra 10km to soak up the Provençal countryside and its landscapes. So, which will you choose ?
